Walid G. H. Saad
Topic Group Member – EBEC Final 2017
What does EBEC mean to you?
Olympics of Engineering, gathering young people with extraordinary potential from every corner of Europe.
When you look back at event, what are you most proud of?
I am certainly most proud of the team of great people I worked with: our spirit, our motivation, our dedication and determination on creating a competition that would significantly impact the future of hundreds of students!
How did organizing EBEC Final helped your personal development?
It helped me gain improvisation skills by organizing, together with two Spanish veterans and Topicantes, the first Educational Summit during EBEC SIM, where local and international volunteers of BEST came together for a profound team building and spirit ignition. Some argue that without the Educational Summit, BESTies wouldn’t have had the motivation to successfully conclude EBEC Final.
What is the most important thing you learned during the organization of EBEC Final?
I learned that when you volunteer and invest your time and energy for the improvement of others, you most definitely are the first one to feel the impact: skills, friends, improvement, fun, and gratitude!
