What does EBEC mean to you?

I literally wanted to leave BEST when I discovered EBEC and found out that I couldn’t participate in it because I was already a member of the organization. Then I decided, if I can not participate in it, then I will create tasks and again “participate”. For me, EBEC is, in other words, an unrealistic dream, but saturated.

When you look back at event, what are you most proud of?

All the smiles on the faces of the participants, the organizer and the observer that came out of our tasks and the EBEC itself.

How did organizing EBEC Final helped your personal development?

You realize that no matter how perfectly perfect it is, it can also have a disastrous end, and something so imperfect can have a beautiful result.

What is the most important thing you learned during the organization of EBEC Final?

One man can do anything, 100 people can do everything that never occurred to that man.

What does EBEC mean to you?

EBEC project is a seed to develop the European leadership in the world of technology through human values.

When you look back at event, what are you most proud of?

I am proud of the positive impact the project did in all the stakeholders involved, and particularly of having met so many participants having a great time solving the challenges we set them and developing enriching relationships both with their teams and their opponents.

How did organizing EBEC Final helped your personal development?

A bunch of new contacts (personal and professional), my English was totally boosted, and I acquired plenty of soft skills related to project management: time management, international teamwork, communication…

What is the most important thing you learned during the organization of EBEC Final?

Communication is a key in project management. It can ruin the project, or make a huge success out of it; communication management is frequently the only difference between the former and the latter.

What does EBEC mean to you?

It is hard to put into words what this project means to me as a person. The reason is the huge potential and creativity as a unique concept in the students’ world. EBEC helped me understand how just a well-organised group of students can achieve huge results when they are united. It also showed me how to face the challenges that occur during the organisation of complex events.

When you look back at event, what are you most proud of?

Since I still believe that EBEC is one of the best representations of engineering among students, there will always be things that make me proud. Firstly, being part of EBEC Final 2014 as a Topic Group member, I was astounded by the level of creativity shown by students based on our given tasks. Next, organising EBEC Final 2015 as an EBEC Journalist, I was impressed by how LBG Porto showed dexterity and professionalism during the whole event. It made me feel delighted how BEST as an organisation treats this event as one of their most important occurrences. Lastly, as a President of LBG Belgrade during the time EBEC Final 2016 was hosted in my city, I am proud of my team and the whole organisation, as well as how much persistence and strength we had in order to overcome all the obstacles during that one year of preparations for the event.

How did organizing EBEC Final helped your personal development?

It helped me a lot! Firstly, taking responsibility for a part of the event and seeing the outcome of all our hard work was actually the biggest lesson I learnt as a TG member. When EBEC Final 2016 was organised in LBG Belgrade, as a president I built the self-confidence to face any challenge that comes on my way. It can even raise to the extent of surrealism! I believe that specific event really made me a mentally stronger person.

What is the most important thing you learned during the organization of EBEC Final?

The most important lesson I learnt is definitely that good team work can move the rocks. I am extremely happy to know that I came to that conclusion after changing lots of different teams and work environments. All the good memories which we will cherish throughout life were a product of teamwork, unity, friendship and passion. Knowing that each one of us grew, progressed and that we couldn’t be where we are now without this development is a realization we will always be glad about.

Who are the BEST students in your country?

Do you remember about Local Rounds? (if not, you can read about them in this article and on our channels)

The winners of each Local Round of EBEC have the access to the National/Regional ones to be challenged again, try new experiences and feeling a lot of emotions.

What does it mean being part of a National/Regional Round?

For universities and companies it is a great chance to increase their own visibility, empower their brand and do some networking.
If you are an organising student, on the other hand, it is a wonderful moment to increase your skills, while amusing yourself and meeting new people and companies.
If you are a participant student, finally, it means you are representing your university at a national level, while having the opportunity of having fun, meeting new people and companies.

Of course, it is impossible not to mention the further possibility to work in a team, dealing with different ideas and a limited availability of means to solve a problem; to quote Marie Chaloupkova, who represented Y Soft Corporation during the Final Round of EBEC in 2017:

“I really liked it [the competition] because they have some kind of problem, some time to tackle it and I think that actually all them are winners because they built something, it works and even if it does not work this is what sometimes happens with technology”.

Despite these inspiring and profound words, there are winner teams, tough, and being the winner of a your own country, beside obviously going to the Final Round to represent it.
Right now, all the rounds are gone, who will be the aforementioned brilliant students and who will be the ones to win the title “Top students” in Europe for this edition?

That it is very important to delegate and give people the opportunity to learn by your side. That there is no problem without a solution.

What does EBEC mean to you?

EBEC is an inspiring project, capable to take the best of the people that believe in developing people through competitions. And it doesn’t matter if you are an organizer or a participant, because all of us are competing with ourselves to be successful.

When you look back at event, what are you most proud of?

I am proud of absolutely everything. Taking into consideration that is not a path paved with gold, I really loved how all the people involved worked like a charm for a whole year, dealing with ups and downs and a lot of emotions and challenges, and all of it was completely worthy because we pushed ourselves to another level to do a great job for BEST.

How did organizing EBEC Final helped your personal development?

I hadn’t done anyhting before like being in EBEC Team. For me EBEC it was a very great event and I was not completely sure that I would be able to handle it although I was highly motivated. At the end I found out that with motivation and effort it was possible to achieve anything I want.

What is the most important thing you learned during the organization of EBEC Final?

As mentioned before, I found out that with motivation and effort it was possible to achieve anything I want. Also, that bonding together with your team make a lot easier and enjoyable working with a team <3

What does EBEC mean to you?

EBEC is a competition which changes the lives of people involved in it. It is a service which combines all the values of BEST. It’s kind of the olympics of engineering students. It is a huge passion and addiction. As I have said many times, EBEC is a project which is worth fighting for.

When you look back at event, what are you most proud of?

I am most proud of the people who organise it. A bunch of university students with the same dream, following the same goals. In the end we managed to organised such a big event on such a high quality level. Thats what I am most proud of, I am proud of us doing this.

How did organizing EBEC Final helped your personal development?

Since I was from a BEST group which was also hosting EBEC Final 2017 I learned a lot about the whole planning and resources needed for such an event. Moreover I learned about teamwork, virtual communication and I got more confident with public speaking.

What is the most important thing you learned during the organization of EBEC Final?

There is no doubt about the answer here at all. The most important lesson that EBEC Final gave me was that everything is doable if you have a group of passionate people whol believe it is doable.

What does EBEC mean to you?

EBEC for us, BESTies, represents organizing an enormous and complex event by cooperating with people from many other countries! And by doing that, we experienced in first person the meaning of BEST: “empowered diversity” and “developing students”.

When you look back at event, what are you most proud of?

First of all, the amazing moments shared with all the great people you meet. Secondly, the personal growth of learning how to work using technological tools to overcome distance.

How did organizing EBEC Final helped your personal development?

The tools we used to work with are the ones I use now with my clients!

What is the most important thing you learned during the organization of EBEC Final?

The event per se is just the tip of the iceberg! You have to work behind the scenes for a really long time in order to be ready in august 🙂
